Group business trip 'Expo 2020 Dubai: Flemish week with focus on innovation and sustainability'.

Postponement is not a cancellation. On 1 October 2021, the 35th World Expo will start in Dubai, which will be a high mass for technology and innovation. Flanders will also show the best of itself during the Flemish Week.

Expo 2020 Dubai sets the stage for the future
From 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022 the 35th World Expo will take place in Dubai with the theme 'Connecting Minds, Creating the Future'. Based on three sub-themes - 'opportunity', 'mobility' and 'sustainability' - the Expo aims to inspire and shape the future of countries and communities.
It will be the first world exhibition to be held in the United Arab Emirates and by extension in the Middle East - Africa - South Asia region. More than 25 million visitors are expected.
Flanders is also present
World Expos have grown into an important commercial and business platform of global proportions. Dubai and the United Arab Emirates are also an important business hub. It is therefore expected that the economic impact of this World Expo will surpass previous editions. Belgium and Flanders will also be present in Dubai. The theme of Expo 2020 fits in perfectly with the internationalisation strategy 'Vlaanderen versnelt! The world expo is therefore an excellent opportunity to promote Flanders as a region of proven strengths and potential.
During the 'Flemish Week' from 24 to 28 October, a group business trip led by the Minister-President will visit Dubai.
