Frederik Loeckx is Managing Director of Flux50. Flux50 is the Flemish spearhead energy cluster that puts Flanders on the international map as a Smart Energy Region. Flux50 facilitates cross-sector collaboration between energy, IT and construction companies to strengthen the competitiveness of the Flemish smart energy industry in the transition to low-carbon systems.
Frederik Loeckx graduated as an electro-technical engineer from KU Leuven in 1996. In 2001, Frederik obtained a Master in Business Administration from the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School.
Between 2002 and 2006, he worked as an advisor on innovation strategy and innovation projects at the Provinciale Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij Vlaams Brabant. In 2006, Frederik Loeckx founded Triphase, a spin-off of the University of Leuven, operating internationally with research systems for smart energy systems and under his leadership the company grew to 16 people.
On behalf of Triphase, Frederik was a member of the board of directors of Smart Grid Flanders, the predecessor of Flux50, for 6 years and is present in various innovation advisory groups in Flanders.
